Tulip fields Netherlands global perspective

Edgar’s Blog: global perspective

Do you have a global perspective?

Last April the world population reached the 7.5 billion people. These people are spread out over 195 countries and 510 billion square kilometers. Which comes down to 68 square kilometers per person, yet moste of use live on 68 square meters. Of course it doesn’t make sense to own so much land, water or ice. But what does matter is going out of your living space! How can you have a global perspective if you haven’t seen a lot of the world?

All 7.5 billion of you humans are stuck on this round globe called earth, why not explore the most of it! Exploring the world is one of the most valued things to do. As a turtle, travelling is in my nature, from the moment I was born. I was born on a gorgeous white beach with clear blue water. I waddled across this beautiful beach and dove in the first big wave that rolled on the beach. After been flushed back on the sand a few times I finely made it in to deeper water. Together with my brothers and sisters we swam into the ocean. While they went back to their birthplace I decided to explore more of the world. Countries like Sri Lanka, China, Japan and America were amazing but I was most intrigued by Rotterdam. Those huge buildings along the river with so many people cycling along and over water was just bizar.

Travelling really gave me a different perspective on the world. Everywhere I came people were nice and friendly. Like it was one big family, I suppose you are. Seeing so many different cultures, landscapes and climates makes you appreciate the small things in life. It might be tempting to visit the other side of the world but I learned that there are also beautiful places nearby. In China I saw European people, in Europe Chinees, In Sri Lanka Chinees and European and in America people from all around the world. Funny how this works, the grass is always greener on the other side right? If you travel all over the world you should definitely do so. If you can’t, remember that there are people travelling from all over the world to look at those beautiful tulip fields you see every day while going to work.

Summer tea

Edgar’s blog: Drink that booty off

Zinger your body and drink that booty off.

One of my tea blends is a blend of spices called “ginger zinger”.

It contains ginger, green rooibos, black and white peppercorns and a smidgen of stevia. All natural products that have different properties and effects on the bodies.

Ginger, for example has a long history of use for relieving digestive problems such as nausea, loss of appetite and motion sickness. Ginger is also used for pain, such a headaches and it is known to fight the virus that causes the common cold. Green rooibos tea contains absolutely no caffeine but does contains the antioxidants that stop the wrinkles (and a cheap wrinkle stopper at that for 10 eurocents a cup ;-)). Black pepper is rich in magnesium and lots of essential elements like copper and iron. The outer layer of the peppercorn stimulates the break down of fat. So boost your body with my ginger zinger and drink that booty off.

new year Resolutions

Edgar’s Blog: New Year Resolutions

Oh yes, this is going to be the year! You are going to be healthier, fitter, more successful and see more of your friends and family. It’s a common thing to have a list of resolutions for the upcoming year. But why is that? Do you regret anything of the past year? And what happend to the resolutions you made the year before…

So here we are at the New Years BORREL/PARTY  telling all of our good intentions to our colleagues. ”I subscribed to the gym and want lose 5 pound before March” While the other colleague just told everyone that he is going to stop drinking. After half an hour everybody is drinking champagne and eating snacks and appetisers.

I don’t want to discourage people from having good intentions for the New Year but you should have them for every single day! If you reflect on yesterday and come to the conclusion that you could have done better let today be the day you are going to do better. Not tomorrow, next month or this year.

Ps. If you still have good resolutions and want to get fitter, try my Detox tea! Buy here…

double espresso International Coffee Day

Edgar’s Blog: International Coffee Day

Coffee? Yes please it’s International Coffee Day!

Coffee is what some of you might drink on a daily basis. This Thursday and Saturday (29th September & 1st October)  it is International Coffee Day in a lot of countries. A good day to have a think about coffee. Although I love tea I don’t hate coffee. The opposite actually! I truly can enjoy a good cup of coffee. But hey, I’m a turtle. I don’t need coffee to get me going.

That said, a lot of people need coffee to function. Waking up, arriving at the office, after checking all the emails, before the first meeting, after the first meeting and so on. Do you really need all that cafeïne? I don’t think so. I think people just need a short break. Of course a bit of cafeïne will help you focus but some fresh air will so too. Don’t make yourself dependent on coffee, energy drink or even tea. With a little variation you can get back in control. You don’t have to be a true coffee or true tea drinker. Tea and coffee can go very well together!

Get inspired on International Coffee Day to enjoy a good quality cup of coffee. There lots of things to consider in the coffee. The origin of the coffee bean is one thing. Then there is the roasting proces, and then grinding. And then you just have coffee. Quality also depends on the machine, water and barista. From there you have endless choices. From a espresso, cappuccino, macchiato to frappuccinos.

Hopefully you can appreciate quality over quantity. Just like I do.

Cheers, Edgar

Edgar's Blog: International kissing day! man and woman kissing. Black and white picture

Edgar’s Blog: International kissing day!

This Wednesday it is international kissing day.

And I think we all should celebrate this special day!

What makes kissing so special? Is it the fact that you are very close to someone? Or because it’s a little bit sensuous? Or maybe exciting because you are letting someone in your comfortzone? Thinking about it there are a lot of weird things going on in a kiss that aren’t practical or would be particularly attractive at another moment. For example,  human noses are not in a great position for that kiss, a difference in height between the kiss partners can be annoying and that’s not to mention a bad breath… And is that really you?

All those awkward things that give us a little hesitation. But the moment your lips touch the lips of your kissing partner fireworks are exploding. All the awkward feelings are gone. That’s the magic of a kiss! A small kiss on the cheek or a full on kiss on the lips just go for it today!

PS I found a nice video about kissing. Have a look and let me know what you think.

Get hot and wet with Edgar! Buy tea. And remember my green tea is good for a sweet kissing breath …..

Edgar’s blog: 2016 trending at this very minute

2016 trending, trending and trending at this very minute….

The Brexit. The European football championships. The 5:2 diet. Mindfulness. Self-tracking. The standing desk. Paleo meal plans, (aanpassing schijf van vijf), Snorting Chocolate. Life in 2016 means a constant stream of new apps, connected devices, eating fads, lifestyle movements, constant on line information and more. Trending, trending, trending. Don’t miss it!

For innovators, one Big Question emerges: where is all this heading? One thing is certain: the world is full of meditation apps whilst on the other hand more and more peeps seek the advice of a physchiatrist. Overload.

This is, for an emerging brand like With Edgar an absolute minefield.

Where do I start? On-line platform or off-line platform? In with that trend, out with that trend? How did those world changers like Steve Jobs do it? What made them different? How can I with my loose tea and socks become a success? It is a hard think and I am still thinking, every day.

I can’t help feeling that somewhere we peeps are loosing perspective. It simply does not matter what’s trending because it is short lived anyway. What are we afraid of it we miss the trend?

We get bored real quick with the content on our screens but yet we have no patience to sit down and enjoy a meal with mates without looking at our mobile screens to check what we have missed, no internet means socially dead? Or are we turning into a bunch of paranoids who are unable to make choices about what we want, unable to commit incase we  miss something better later on.

Somewhere along the line we are losing contact with one another through all of this digital trending. What’s wrong with just chilling, chatting, eye contact and being, well yes, dare I say it, old fashioned.

After a long hard think I have drawn  a few pointers for me to re-charge  my perspective.

  • Don’t get drawn into the trending hype and frenzy
  • Stick by what I stand for and never forget it
  • Take time to smell the roses
  • Honesty is the best way
  • Normal is OK –  who wants to be abnormal anyway?
  • Enrichment of my daily life, add a little bit of special to normal every now and again
  • Share ‘coz it makes me feel good

And when I think these are pretty good values for me, I realise they are also pretty good values voor me and my peeps at With Edgar. So yep, the last few months we have been putting things into practice and it works. Stopping to smell the roses is actually good fun.

And yep, sometimes it does take a little longer to get things done, but then again less stress. What is great is that our focus on what we set out to do is stronger, much stronger and that has to be good.

So for me it is becoming an easy choice. I still have to get out of the habbit of that screen check every 10 seconds but hey, I am getting there. Rome wasn’t built in a day and after all I am only a turtle.

Think about it. What can you do to break the trend and be yourself a little more often? Drop me a line I am keen to know.

Cheers Edgar,

Ps a friend just called. She was just out for dinner with a few mates. All mobile phones went into the middle of the table and were off limits. If anyone dared to pick up their phone the entire bill was for them. What she said is that the conversation was the best they had in ages…….old fashioned, could this be trending 😉 ?

naked green sencha tea with white background

Edgar’s blog: Naked with green tea

Naked with green tea

You don’t just have to drink tea to enjoy it. In fact there are many things you can do with tea to enjoy it. You just have to know what they are. So here are a few ideas I have gathered for you to try. Go naked with green tea. Go on, live dangerously and expand your boundaries. Notice the difference you can make to your body.  Drop me a line and let me know how these naked green remedies work for you.

Super chill body care!  Give yourself a treat and put 50 grams of green tea into your bath. Enjoy the luxury and experience the difference this green soak will make to your skin.

Spots move on!  Skin care. Many people swear by the  green tea facial wash. Make one yourself with the cold green tea you brewed earlier. For effective results wash your face at least twice daily with a green tea brew.

Hair baby.   While we’re in beauty mode, be sure to try a green tea hair rinse, especially with that summer sun and sand.  A rinse of strong green tea, left in until it dries and then rinsed out with water does the job just great. Some even say green tea can perhaps help with hairloss.

Smelly feet.   You like wearing your boots  with your latest new summer get up but hey what does it do for your feet cooked in your boots all day long.  I have said it before but will say it again. Treat your tootsies to a strong green tea foot bath. Nothing like it.

Sweet breath. Almost forgot, keep drinking your green tea because it is good for your mouth hygiene and that leads on to the rest…… yep green tea is thought to boost sex drive. Try it! I did ……..;-)

Have fun going naked :-)

Buy my tea special!

A double wall glass thermos bottle. With two different tea filters. Easy to use for any kind of loose tea. Perfect for Hot or cold tea.

Edgar’s blog: Cold tea

OMG it’s weather for cold tea!

With sunny days like last weekend I drink litres of my own cold tea! You all probably know that I love tea and can drink it all day. On hot sunny days I still want my tea and a cool refreshing drink too. That is why I make my tea cold. I have a few tea’s that work great for cold tea. I’ll explain how to make cold tea on the basis of my thermos bottle.

My Nuts 4 nuts loose tea:

This pure blend of nuts along with veggies, is one of my sweeter tea’s and  it has a hot summer pink colour. This blend contains no caffeine, sugar or any artificial ingredients, pure healthy goodness. Fill the tea filter basket of my loose tea thermos bottle with  2 teaspoons  of Nuts 4 Nuts loose tea. Fill up the thermos bottle almost to the top with water and put in the filter basket with the Nuts 4 nuts. Screw the lid on the bottle. Leave the lid a little loose. This way it will cool faster. Set it in the refrigerator for a 3 to 4 hours. If you are in a hurry and want a quick chill you can always use ready chilled water and ice.

My Spiced lemon grass loose tea:

Have you ever drank a spicy cold tea? Well I have and it’s great! The lemon grass along with pieces of coconut make this tea very refreshing. The chillie gives it a cheeky kick at the end. You can make this cold tea exactly the same as the Nuts 4 nuts. Put 2 teaspoons of spiced lemon grass in the the filter basket and set in my loose tea thermos bottle. If you prefer not tooooo spicy take out a chillie or two or just let it brew for a shorter time.

My Detox loose tea:

My best friend after over indulging hot or cold! With this tea I would recommend a different way of making it as a cold tea. Fill the tea filter basket of my loose tea thermos bottle with 2 teaspoons of Detox loose tea and set it in the thermos bottle. For green tea let the boiled water cool down a bit till it’s +/- 80 degrees. Slowly poor over hot water and let it brew for 5 minutes. Take out the filter basket including the tea. Let it cool down for a while. Then close the bottle and set in the refrigerator.

I used these teas as an example but of course you take any kind of tea and make it a cold tea. It’s a great beverage that is refreshing, healthy and my teas contain no added sugar. Just try it out and let me know what you think. If you make new sorts of cold tea I would love to hear your story.

Here is a video how to use my loose tea thermos bottle.

Edgar’s blog: Tip for smelly feet

Look at your feet. No, take a good look at them. There they are on the end of your legs.

You run, walk, seduce and do all sorts of things that you would find it really hard to do without them. Most of the time you never even notice them let alone give them a bit of TLC.

Some guys judge girls by how well they take care of their feet. Yeap! Apparently they think that if a girl doesn’t take care of her feet she doesn’t take care of the rest of herself… and that can affect whether or not they want to date her.  For all you male peeps out there, chicks judge you by your footsies too.   Ask yourself honestly, are your feet a turn-on or a turn-off?

Whoever you are it is important to have healthy feet and they are often forgotten.  So start today and give your feet a treat.

Try Edgar’s tip for smelly footsies: take at least 4-6 litres of black tea and soak your feet for 15-30 mins. Enjoy. Dry your feet and treat them to a fresh pair of my socks. No more smelly feet with Edgar :-)

Edgar’s blog: No sugar in tea

Tea and health – chill down, fit up with a cuppa.

Lots of peeps ask me about the health qualities of tea. Today a tiny little bit about green and black tea and why it is good for you.

All real tea, green and black, comes from the tea plant camellia sinensis. The type of production process determines the colour, green or black. Both green and black teas contain substances amongst others  like antioxidants, flavinoids, caffeine & theeine.  These substances can promote better oral health (no fillings – yipee!), better bones, lower blood pressure, lower the risk of strokes and last but not least have been linked to cancer prevention. In the next few blogs I will zoom in on the specific health aspects of some of the ingredients in my tea blends and what they can do for you.

Want to try some of my tea?  Have a cuppa with me….mine’s a calm green sencha, what’s yours? Check out my taster box. A selection of tea with just enough to make 3 liters per tea flavour that’s a total of 27 liters in the one box ( 0.50 euro cents per litre for quality tea and much cheaper per litre than those fizzy sugary drinks). My taster box is an easy way for you to discover which one of my  flavours you like the most. Remember …..Free shipping till Easter.

Before I go – one of the oldest know benefits of tea is stress relief.  …………..chill down and enjoy and remember no sugar :-)
