My Lapsang Souchong will divide my friends. Some of you will love it and some of you will hate it. Lapsang Souchong comes in many varieties. I have selected a quality version with a fine smoked flavour for you to enjoy. The leaves are roasted over pine wood which also gives not only the smoke flavour but also a slight resin flavour to the tea. The story goes that this tea was invented when the drying of tea had been delayed due to armies passing through the region and to satisfy demand the tea makers decided to speed up the drying process. This they did by drying the tea over fires of pine wood.
