Go naked with green tea

You don’t just have to drink tea to enjoy it. In fact there are many things you can do with tea to enjoy it. You just have to know what they are. So here are a few ideas I have gathered for you to try. The sun is shinning and your body needs some attention before you can throw of those winter layers.  Let me help you,  go naked with green tea. Go on, live dangerously and expand your boundaries. Notice the difference you can make to your body.  Drop me a line and let me know how these naked green remedies work for you.

Super chill body care!  Give yourself a treat and put 50 grams of green tea into your bath. Enjoy the luxury and experience the difference this green soak will make to your skin.

Spots move on!  Skin care. Many people swear by the  green tea facial wash. Make one yourself with the cold green tea you brewed earlier. For effective results wash your face at least twice daily with a green tea brew.

Hair baby.   While we’re in beauty mode, be sure to try a green tea hair rinse, especially with that summer sun and sand.  A rinse of strong green tea, left in until it dries and then rinsed out with water does the job just great. Some even say green tea can perhaps help with hairloss.

Smelly feet.   You like wearing your boots  with your latest new summer get up but hey what does it do for your feet cooked in your boots all day long.  I have said it before but will say it again. Treat your tootsies to a strong green tea foot bath. Nothing like it.

Sweet breath. Almost forgot, keep drinking your green tea because it is good for your mouth hygiene and that leads on to the rest…… yep green tea is thought to boost sex drive. Try it! I did ……..;-)

Have fun going naked :-)

Edgar’s Blog: Positive thinking

Positive thinking sounds very logical. But is it?

We all want to show the world that we are doing very well. You share the good moments, good food and good parties all on your social media. So in a way we try to show everybody that we live our lives positively. But do we always think positively? Well I think we can do a lot better. If it’s raining people complain, if it’s warm people complain, if the traffic is bad people complain. Complaining is always a good opportunity for a conversation and that is sad. So it’s time for a change!

The famous Dutch soccer player Johan Crujff always said: ”Elk nadeel heb ze voordeel”. Meaning every disadvantage has an advantage. Why would we put focus on the negative if we can emphasize the positive. So today, what disadvantage will you turn into an advantage?

You want to know mine? This weather makes me feel hot and bothered but it gives me a chance to drink my delicious matcha kuchicha out of my lovely design tea bottle. This cold brew tea is a great alternative to a glass of alcohol. That makes me feel cool and cool!

End of the summer I only have 3 bottles left so if you want a set send me a mail quick.

Edgar’s blog: is Matcha a match for you

Matcha Match with Edgar

Just recently loads of peeps have been asking me about Matcha. Probabaly because they have been on holiday to the US and UK where drinking matcha tea has really taken off. It is a new healthy trend.

Matcha is finely ground powder of specially grown and processed green tea from Japan. It is special in two aspects of farming and processing: The green tea plants for matcha are shade-grown for about three week prior to harvesting and after harvesting the stems and the veins of the leaves are removed. The leaf is dried and stone ground.

As early as the 8th century a Japanese Zen priest Eisai claimed matcha to be  “the ultimate mental and medical remedy and has the ability to make one’s life more full and complete”. Recently matcha has taken on a new image as being a must have for the health set crowd. So why is matcha so good for you? But what’s the truth behind the health claims? Here’s what you need to know if you want to join the green health party.

To prepare matcha the traditional Japanese way, measure the tea into a heated tea bowl (chawan) with a bent bamboo spoon (chashaku). Add hot but not boiling water – 70°C is about right – then whisk to a froth using a special bamboo whisk (chasen). If you have not got the real gear use an electric milk frother just as good and great for those of us in a hurry.

So why is matcha good for you? Matcha contains small amounts of various vitamins and minerals, but is most prized for being rich in polyphenol compounds called catechins, a type of antioxidant. Matcha is made from ground up whole tea leaves dissolved in water. it’s a more potent source of catechins than standard green tea, which is consumed as an infusion and the leaves discarded. Also matcha contains must less caffeine 24–39mg per cup than a coffee shot but at the same time delivers a feeling of “calm alertness” with none of side effects that can come with coffee.

What about quality? With Matcha, as for any tea, you pay for what you get. The more you pay the better the quality. For good quality matcha you will pay about 25 euros for 25 gms. You need to see a vibrant green colour. You can also get it cheaper but then it is for cooking, not drinking and the colour is duller and less vibrant than the drinking quality.

Go on try it with me. I have a very special organic one for you, just flown in from Japan.

START Tekst:

Tea in England been popular for years. The Rotterdamer Bob Wouters wants to make the Dutch hot for the healthy and natural brew. Not with the fabricated tea from a teabag, but with real loose tea. Meet With Edgar.

With his somewhat pale face and dressed in a suit you could be mistaken in thinking the 26-year old Dutchman Bob Wouters is an Englishman. But nothing is less true. His partner Tracey Stomp (53), however, speaks clearly with an English accent. I am English ” Tracey smiles friendly.

Bob and Tracey Stomp have a nice office in a beautiful pre-war building on the Heemraadssingel. It is from here that the real tea dream is realized. It works because even though the tea brand  has only been on the market since November it is already being sold all around the world.  “But it’s still not fast enough for us, ” said the tea lovers in unison.

Worldwide fans. This is not just thanks to the brand image and it’s a nice marketing story with the adorable cheeky turtle Edgar. The tea of the Rotterdam brand is actually a gem among the many tea brands in The Netherlands. Where Bob has the creative entrepreneurial spirit Tracey possesses the ‘tea’ knowledge from her experience as a tea buyer.

The born and bred entrepreneur started when he was 12 years old selling keyrings he made at home.  Bob broke his studies HBO Commercial Management prematurely to fulfill his passion: his own brand under which different products can be launched. Products resulting from his own needs.

About a year ago With Edgar brand launched a collection of colorful socks. “I always lost my socks in the wash, so I made a button on the socks so that you can tie them together, ” Bob said.

From socks to tea. Bob explains: “Coffee is currently undergoing a revolution. We also want to bring this to the tea industry. After the introduction of the tea bag, this market has seen little innovation. Like Tracey I love real loose tea. “

Tea With Edgar tea has again emerged from their own needs.

In the tea lab the couple’s friends and family taste different teas. Not the regular flavours of loose tea, but for example, green tea with lemon grass and juniper berries. Or a tea which does not contain any real tea and is made of nuts, ginger, apple, beetroot and cinnamon. The so-called Nuts4Nuts. “Very popular, ” said Bob. “ And Detox, because that sounds healthy”. “And it is,” adds Tracey.

Spit

We must take the test in tea lab where Bob shows how to taste tea. The tea should be scooped as a spoonful, slurped into the mouth and spat out into the spittoon. It sounds somewhat nasty. The tea is not. It is surprisingly tasty. The oolong be strong is a favourite due to the combination of oolong, flowers and saffron.

Tracey: “Tea contains less caffeine than coffee, it does not give a caffeine shot but a prolonged alertness”. Incidentally, you can serve most teas cold and you have a very healthy alternative for lemonades and sugary soft drinks.”

For those who are tired of teabags in the office, With Edgar also has a funky tea thermos bottle with tea filter.

“We have lots of great ideas. ”

Edgar’s blog: Cold tea

OMG it’s weather for cold tea!

With sunny days like last weekend I drink litres of my own cold tea! You all probably know that I love tea and can drink it all day. On hot sunny days I still want my tea and a cool refreshing drink too. That is why I make my tea cold. I have a few tea’s that work great for cold tea. I’ll explain how to make cold tea on the basis of my thermos bottle.

My Nuts 4 nuts loose tea:

This pure blend of nuts along with veggies, is one of my sweeter tea’s and  it has a hot summer pink colour. This blend contains no caffeine, sugar or any artificial ingredients, pure healthy goodness. Fill the tea filter basket of my loose tea thermos bottle with  2 teaspoons  of Nuts 4 Nuts loose tea. Fill up the thermos bottle almost to the top with water and put in the filter basket with the Nuts 4 nuts. Screw the lid on the bottle. Leave the lid a little loose. This way it will cool faster. Set it in the refrigerator for a 3 to 4 hours. If you are in a hurry and want a quick chill you can always use ready chilled water and ice.

My Spiced lemon grass loose tea:

Have you ever drank a spicy cold tea? Well I have and it’s great! The lemon grass along with pieces of coconut make this tea very refreshing. The chillie gives it a cheeky kick at the end. You can make this cold tea exactly the same as the Nuts 4 nuts. Put 2 teaspoons of spiced lemon grass in the the filter basket and set in my loose tea thermos bottle. If you prefer not tooooo spicy take out a chillie or two or just let it brew for a shorter time.

My Detox loose tea:

My best friend after over indulging hot or cold! With this tea I would recommend a different way of making it as a cold tea. Fill the tea filter basket of my loose tea thermos bottle with 2 teaspoons of Detox loose tea and set it in the thermos bottle. For green tea let the boiled water cool down a bit till it’s +/- 80 degrees. Slowly poor over hot water and let it brew for 5 minutes. Take out the filter basket including the tea. Let it cool down for a while. Then close the bottle and set in the refrigerator.

I used these teas as an example but of course you take any kind of tea and make it a cold tea. It’s a great beverage that is refreshing, healthy and my teas contain no added sugar. Just try it out and let me know what you think. If you make new sorts of cold tea I would love to hear your story.

Here is a video how to use my loose tea thermos bottle.
