Go naked with green tea

You don’t just have to drink tea to enjoy it. In fact there are many things you can do with tea to enjoy it. You just have to know what they are. So here are a few ideas I have gathered for you to try. The sun is shinning and your body needs some attention before you can throw of those winter layers.  Let me help you,  go naked with green tea. Go on, live dangerously and expand your boundaries. Notice the difference you can make to your body.  Drop me a line and let me know how these naked green remedies work for you.

Super chill body care!  Give yourself a treat and put 50 grams of green tea into your bath. Enjoy the luxury and experience the difference this green soak will make to your skin.

Spots move on!  Skin care. Many people swear by the  green tea facial wash. Make one yourself with the cold green tea you brewed earlier. For effective results wash your face at least twice daily with a green tea brew.

Hair baby.   While we’re in beauty mode, be sure to try a green tea hair rinse, especially with that summer sun and sand.  A rinse of strong green tea, left in until it dries and then rinsed out with water does the job just great. Some even say green tea can perhaps help with hairloss. Click here.

Smelly feet.   You like wearing your boots  with your latest new summer get up but hey what does it do for your feet cooked in your boots all day long.  I have said it before but will say it again. Treat your tootsies to a strong green tea foot bath. Nothing like it.

Sweet breath. Almost forgot, keep drinking your green tea because it is good for your mouth hygiene and that leads on to the rest…… yep green tea is thought to boost sex drive. Try it! I did ……..;-)

Have fun going naked :-)

Rain drops on plant

Edgar’s blog: rain, rain, rain, rain

Don’t mention the rain.

Rain, rain, rain, rain. The last few days in northern Europe have seen their fair share of rain. When I wake up and look out of the window in the mornings one of my first thoughts is “I wonder if it is raining today?” and that somehow affects my mood. Rain makes me gloomy and sunshine makes me happy. How stupid of me to be affected by something that I can’t influence, the weather.  Walking to work this morning I noticed the younger children. They sit happily on their parents’ bikes to be dropped off at nursery, raindrops in their little faces and on their heads, they don’t seem to mind. Then we have the slightly older children who just love to look for the puddles and jump in them. Great fun I remember. When did I loose the love for rain I wonder?

Recently I was visiting one of my friends in Africa. We were sat in his mum’s house enjoying a cup of tea when there was a knock at the door.  My friend went to answer the door and a conversation ensued.  My friend left the house and returned about 15 minutes later.

On his return I asked him where he had been. He told me that when he opened the door two small children were stood in front of him, one child was 7 years old and the other was 4 years old.  It transpired that the children had been walking for 5 hours that morning to try and find some water to drink and to take back for their mother and family.  They were carrying two plastic gallon containers.  My friend’s family have a water tank so their water situation was not yet life threatening. He gave the children some water and arranged for them to get a lift home.  I was shocked and sad. I asked my friend if this was an unusual situation. He assured me with the current drought it was a common situation.  People knock on his door daily asking for water and while he has it, he gives it. One day he knows his water will run out and ……then?

I asked him what may help him and his neighbours. A better water infrastructure but the chances the authorities can arrange that are very slim indeed.

We talked further and explored more possibilities. We finally came up with a plan to drill a well. On my return home I raised the funds for the well and we got to work building it.

Since installation of the well the water has been flowing and there are not yet any signs that the well is drying up. It could, you just don’t know, from one day to the next. Like living on a knife edge. So until that day my friend and a his neighbours at least have the most essential thing to life….water.

Sat at my desk this morning  the telephone rings, a friend from Pakistan. He tells me that the heat  there is unbearable and he is longing for rain. It is so hot that the children have stopped for their summer holidays. earlier than planned It is just too hot for them to go to school. Grave diggers have already stated digging extra graves. With the higher temperatures more people are expected to expire with heat exhaustion.

Temperatures in India are breaking through to new records. They too are dreaming of rain.

I turn and open my email to a link from a friend regarding the floods in Sri Lanka.  Floods and landslides, water everywhere. Dramatic, horrific and heartrending, just imagine that you are caught up in something like that. It does not bear thinking about.

So here I am,  I started today by complaining about the rain. I am sorry. I will try and remember the next time I wake up and the rainy weather makes me sad that someone, somewhere in the world, wants just what we have. We need it all, rain, sunshine and something in between.

Spare a thought or deed for those peeps who are suffering extreme weather.

Cheers Edgar.

Edgar’s blog: Tea Consent

A cup of tea consent

A cup of tea is always a good idea. Especially together with someone. But don’t force them to drink tea! Blue seat studios made a brilliant video about the basic principle of consent. The tea consent!

It seems people really have a problem understanding that before you have sex with someone, and that’s every time you have sex with them, make sure they want to have sex with you. This goes for men, women and turtles. Whoever you are initiating sexytimes with, just make sure they are actually genuinely up for it. That’s it. It’s not hard. Really. If you’re still struggling, just imagine instead of initiating sex, you’re making them a cup of tea.

Edgar’s blog: Cold tea

OMG it’s weather for cold tea!

With sunny days like last weekend I drink litres of my own cold tea! You all probably know that I love tea and can drink it all day. On hot sunny days I still want my tea and a cool refreshing drink too. That is why I make my tea cold. I have a few tea’s that work great for cold tea. I’ll explain how to make cold tea on the basis of my thermos bottle.

My Nuts 4 nuts loose tea:

This pure blend of nuts along with veggies, is one of my sweeter tea’s and  it has a hot summer pink colour. This blend contains no caffeine, sugar or any artificial ingredients, pure healthy goodness. Fill the tea filter basket of my loose tea thermos bottle with  2 teaspoons  of Nuts 4 Nuts loose tea. Fill up the thermos bottle almost to the top with water and put in the filter basket with the Nuts 4 nuts. Screw the lid on the bottle. Leave the lid a little loose. This way it will cool faster. Set it in the refrigerator for a 3 to 4 hours. If you are in a hurry and want a quick chill you can always use ready chilled water and ice.

My Spiced lemon grass loose tea:

Have you ever drank a spicy cold tea? Well I have and it’s great! The lemon grass along with pieces of coconut make this tea very refreshing. The chillie gives it a cheeky kick at the end. You can make this cold tea exactly the same as the Nuts 4 nuts. Put 2 teaspoons of spiced lemon grass in the the filter basket and set in my loose tea thermos bottle. If you prefer not tooooo spicy take out a chillie or two or just let it brew for a shorter time.

My Detox loose tea:

My best friend after over indulging hot or cold! With this tea I would recommend a different way of making it as a cold tea. Fill the tea filter basket of my loose tea thermos bottle with 2 teaspoons of Detox loose tea and set it in the thermos bottle. For green tea let the boiled water cool down a bit till it’s +/- 80 degrees. Slowly poor over hot water and let it brew for 5 minutes. Take out the filter basket including the tea. Let it cool down for a while. Then close the bottle and set in the refrigerator.

I used these teas as an example but of course you take any kind of tea and make it a cold tea. It’s a great beverage that is refreshing, healthy and my teas contain no added sugar. Just try it out and let me know what you think. If you make new sorts of cold tea I would love to hear your story.

Here is a video how to use my loose tea thermos bottle.

Edgar’s blog: 71 Years after World War II

Memorial day World War II

Today and tomorrow (4th & 5th May) are two special days for the Dutch people. 71 years ago World War II finally finished after 5 years of war. I can’t begin to imagine what 5 years of war feels like. The most hideous fact of all is that almost the whole planet was at war with each other. To set things in perspective, over 70 million people died during World Word  II,  3% of the global population.

On this day the Dutch remember all the people that passed away in this tragic war and also victims of other wars. At eight o’clock the whole nation will be silent for two minutes. The royal family and many dignitaries lay memorial wreaths in Dam Square. Every year at this ceremony there are veterans present that survived World War II. Sadly, each year there are less and less veterans attending. Within a few decades we will have only generations that didn’t experience Word War II. I think this is really special! So we should always appreciate our freedom instead of taking it for granted! Tomorrow is Liberation Day so party really good, enjoy your freedom and remember to give a little thanks for those that made it possible!

Let’s not forget that there are still wars on this planet and that people die every day because of them. Nowadays humans can fly, build land in the ocean and even jump from space back on earth! Why can’t you all just get along in peace?!

Think about it,

Cheers Edgar
